Leading With Enlightened Hospitality
We prioritize our team members and take care of their needs so that they can take care of our guests and the community.
Shake Shack began as a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park to support a public art project. In 2004, it became a permanent kiosk and quickly turned into a neighborhood favorite. Since then, we’ve grown into a global team rooted in hospitality, quality, and community.
We serve our team, our guests, and our communities with care and intention. By delivering great food, genuine hospitality, and real opportunity, we create a workplace where people feel supported, valued, and ready to grow their careers.
Sustainability is part of how we Stand For Something Good. Across our supply chain and restaurant operations, we're working to care for animals, protect the planet, and support the future of farming.
We’re proud to source proteins that meet high animal welfare standards. In 2024, 100% of our chicken, pork, and Angus beef was raised without added hormones or antibiotics, and all of our eggs were cage-free.
Since 2021, we’ve tracked emissions across our restaurants and offices to help reduce our environmental impact. We continue investing in ways to improve energy use and lower our footprint.
We partner with growers who use regenerative practices that support the health of soil, water, and biodiversity. Together, we’re creating a more resilient and equitable food system—one that’s better for people and the planet.
